activities for Puerto Vallarta and Buscerias…

I Escaped for 72 Hours with the Turtles in Bucerias
North of Puerto Vallarta
Just north of Puerto Vallarta is the quaint town of Bucerias. At first glance the place is something you could blink and miss. Driving along the view is of many businesses on each side and quite honestly is not appealing. But… if you take the lateral (side street right of the highway) then turn left and drive one block toward the bay the view transforms into a Mexican village. I almost think they designed the busy business store fronts as a decoy to secure the secret beauty that lies within.
All about Bucerias
The South West Side
On the South West Side of the highway is a town made up of a few small cobblestone streets and then a wonderful side beach stretching along the north side of Banderas Bay. There are palapas to shade you, clean soft sand to entice you and rolling waves to beacon you. On this side of the bay the waves are gentle and very inviting. Strolling minstrals play Mexican traditional tunes that fill the air

The Place to eat.
Karen’s Place Located on the grounds of Costa Dorado and just above the beach. Both the beach and the pool pull at you while you enjoy a delicious meal. Sunday Brunch is the best meal as it is the perfect time to experience this sea side open air restaurant. Early enough to be cool and late enough to allow for a full restful night sleep.

Frommer’s Review:

Fine Dinning
The atmosphere is tropical and sophisticated at the same time. Open Air dinning with friendly staff and out right delicious food. The surroundings will barely remind you that the location is in a little old town. The menu will have you convinced that you have been transported to a metropolitan establishment.

Fun Dinning can be had at Tapas del Mundo & The Bar Above
Tapas are my favorite food. Small portions allow you to have seconds without guilt. Start with Martinis upstairs. Then downstairs for dinner. Finally ascend back upstairs for dessert.
Tapas del Mundo
The Place to Wander
The Town Square holds charm and fanciful fiestas. There is an affordable market and the beach is always at your side.
